There are important aspects of the ANCHEER S8400 Electric Treadmill you will want to consider before making this purchase. In this review we will share our experience with this model and also explain important qualities to understand in the specifications for this model.

Price Vs. Intended Use. This is probably the most important consideration to understand before purchasing this model. What we mean by intended use. Are you looking for a machine to help with weight loss by walking? Or for general fitness with a bit of jogging? Or are you maybe looking for a machine capable of providing a high level of cardio workout by running?

How does price apply to intended use? In general, home treadmills for running will cost more $$$ compared to models built for only walking or jogging. Just keep this in mind.

Not all treadmills are made to run on

Maybe this is your first time buying a treadmill? Do you have any idea on how to judge the specifications in order to determine whether or not any certain model is capable of providing the ability to run.

The amount of horsepower (hp) the motor provides is a good place to start.

The ANCHEER S8400 treadmill has a 1.5 hp motor. The speed can be adjusted by using the push-button controls located on the center console. But is this enough power for running?

The top speed of this 1.5 hp motor is 6.2 MPH. Turned up to this top speed is equal to running a 9.7 minute mile (60/6.2=9.7).

Is this a runner’s speed?

I guess it depends on an individuals level of fitness…

While a sub 10-minute mile may challenge some people, this is definitely not a challenge for serious runners. If you are looking to buy a home treadmill for running we would not recommend buying this model instead you should buy a treadmill with at least a 2.5 hp motor.

Besides the motor and horsepower output, we would also like to mention another important quality to look at when buying a treadmill for running. The dimensions of the tread belt or exercise platform.

Obviously, when running compared to walking the length of our stride increases. So this means you will need an exercise area long enough in length to accommodate this increase in stride length. For running, we would recommend an area at least 54-inches in length. The ANCHEER S8400 provides only 41-inches.

Positives of the ANCHEER S84000 Treadmill

This is a very economical, entry-level model. If your exercise plans include walking and light jogging this model can provide this ability at a very affordable cost and also rates very strongly compared to other similarly priced treadmills.

Our experience when using this mode is that the motor is silky smooth quiet.

It is also a very compact and lightweight model and folds up. It doesn’t need to be a permanent fixture in your room. Move it out of the way, against the wall or storing it under a bed. The product weight is 57 pounds. This should make moving it around the room manage for the majority of people.

Another thing it provides is a very good warranty compare to others in its price range.

3 years motor

2 years frame

Excellent customer service

There are some drawbacks on this model. Besides not having a motor powerful enough for running and additional exercise related drawback is it does not provide incline. However, the majority of models in this price range do not provide incline as well. If you want incline you will probably need to spend a little more money.

It doesn’t have the highest weight capacity (220 lbs. max user weight) this could be a drawback.

Good choice for the money?

The Ancheer S8400 model is an entry level treadmill. If you are looking for a machine for running this would not be a good choice.

If you are looking for something lightweight and compact that can be folded up and moved out of the way that can be used in your home for low intensity workouts (walking, jogging) then this model certainly does compare well to other models in its price range.

What you need to decide is how much money you want to spend. Of course you can buy better.
